Connect your technology to a recognizable brand.

A Seattle technology business may deliver equipment, a customer dashboard, and ongoing support under one identity. We help align trademark priorities with how customers actually buy and use those offerings.

From the device to the dashboard

Hardware and hosted services can raise different filing questions. We help assess the names used across the full customer experience.

Through dealers and service partners

A name introduced by a dealer should not leave ownership uncertain. Our team can help review how the brand is controlled as your distribution network develops.

A few questions before we begin.

Does a Seattle cloud platform need trademark coverage for every feature name?

Not necessarily. Identify which names function as independent brands and which simply describe functionality. Prioritize commercially important marks using clearance, distinctiveness, and the product roadmap. Portfolio planning is separate from the qualifying flat-fee application package and is billed at current hourly rates.

USPTO: strong trademarks

Trademark registration and filing guidance

Can one filing cover a downloadable tool and its hosted service?

Potentially, but the goods and services need accurate descriptions, appropriate classes, and a supported filing basis. Do not assume the phrase “software platform” captures both. Explain how customers obtain and use each offering so counsel can assess the scope and government fees.

USPTO: goods and services

Trademark portfolio and ownership guidance

What should a SaaS trademark specimen show?

It should show the mark used in a way that connects it with the actual services being provided. A bare logo or an announcement of a future launch may be insufficient. Bring authentic service pages and customer-facing materials; counsel will assess the required information and the relevant use dates.

USPTO: specimens of use

Trademark registration and filing guidance

Can an aerospace supplier trademark an equipment product name?

A name that identifies source may be eligible, subject to clearance, distinctiveness, and other requirements. A purely descriptive technical term or model designation raises additional questions. Registration of the brand would not itself protect the engineering invention, design function, or confidential manufacturing know-how.

USPTO: trademark, patent, or copyright

Does an online launch eliminate geographic conflicts with older businesses?

No. An online launch can expose the brand to a broader market, and a similar name used on related goods or services may create risk. Review relevant prior uses and federal records before rollout. The fact that the other business is outside Washington does not by itself resolve the conflict.

USPTO: likelihood of confusion

How our trademark searches work

What should a Seattle fleet-technology company collect before trademark filing?

Bring device labels, portal screenshots, dealer listings, and sample customer agreements. Identify what the customer buys initially and what service continues after installation. This lets counsel assess the names and offerings using the real customer experience.

Trademark registration and filing guidance

Should a Seattle supplier register a dealer-created name for its equipment?

First examine who created and controls the name and what the distribution agreement permits. A dealer’s marketing choice should not automatically become your application. Resolve ownership and use permissions before adding that name to the filing plan.

USPTO: application problems

Substantive advice, substantive office-action responses, and portfolio management are billed at our current hourly rates. Intent-to-use matters follow a separate fee schedule. See pricing and scope.
